A Central Texas wildfire fueled by unseasonably hot weather has burned more than 6 square miles and destroyed at least nine homes. The Texas A&M Forest Service says the fire near Smithville was 15 percent contained early Thursday. Smithville is about 45 miles southeast of Austin.
