Gumluser Monastery is one of the less visited Byzantine cave sites in the region today and has intact frescoes from the 11th and 12th centuries. Used until the Anatolian Greek population was removed in 1924, it was rediscovered in 1963. Shooting frescoes in poor light was a real challenge.
