Singing in the brain

Male zebra finches, small songbirds native to central Australia, learn their songs by copying what they hear from their fathers. In the new study, MIT neuroscientists have now uncovered the brain activity that supports this learning process. The researchers note that this process is similar to what is believed to drive the production of new genes and traits during evolution.
